With Kindermusik, a good beginning never ends!
Kindermusik offers programs that fit the developmental stages of children. A rich assortment of musical activities is designed to promote language development, symbolic thinking, coordination, and social interactions while cultivating your child’s imagination. Whether listening, moving, vocalizing, enjoying an ensemble or playing an instrument, the focus is on process, not performance. Carefully designed home materials, also based on developmental research, reinforce classroom learning in the home.

Fall 2008 Kindermusik Offerings

Enrollment is now open with forms available online. The Our Time and Imagine That! programs offer a 15-week semester while the Village program for newborns to 18-months offers two, eight-week terms during the semester.

Newborn to 1 1/2 years, 8 weeks, 45-minute classes, 2 sessions

Families can participate in one or both of the Village sessions this fall. They are offered in two consecutive sessions during the semester. The Village experience focuses on nurturing the bond between you and your child. You also learn activities that aid your child’s development; singing, guided play and movement activities help your baby develop improved hearing and balance in a positive emotional environment. It’s a unique setting in which you develop a better understanding of your child’s developmental process. Observing other children and interacting with other parents provides valuable insights as well. Home materials include a home CD, baby's literature book, art banners and an instrument.

Session 1:  August 13—October 1

Session 2:  October 8—December 3

Ages 1½ to 3 years, 15 weeks, 45-minute classes

You and your child attend Our Time together. (Caregivers are also welcome!) Each lesson provides a balance of movement, singing, chanting, listening and playing simple instruments in a joyful, loving atmosphere. An interactive story time is included in each class as well. The sequence of each lesson is carefully planned to help your child move from the security of being with you to activities that invite him or her to show more independence. Home materials include two CDs, two literature books, a Home Activity Book featuring scores to class songs and home activities, an instrument and a playful carrying case.

Ages 3 to 5, 15 weeks, 45-minute classes

This level of Kindermusik integrates music, singing, movement, literature and imagination. This active class encourages children to be expressive and creative through pretend play and storytelling. Vocal development, listening, movement and playing instruments are part of each class. Home materials include two home CDs, two literature books, pretend play manipulatives, a Family Activity Book, an instrument and a backpack.
